Do You Struggle with your Hair in the Summer?

It's about that time again, if you're someone who gets frustrated with your hair in the hotter months- it has probably crossed your mind that we are approaching humid season again.

The thing about humidity is that it always wants to bring our hair back to it's natural state, and maximize that curl and the frizz potential.

If you can relate, this concern has already crossed your mind at least once recently.

The way I see it, we have three options.

Number one- you can embrace your hair in it's natural state frizz and all.

The right products and a great cut will help. Simply start off the summer with an update to your cut to help your curl take its best shape. Curl creams and oils can help control areas of concern, and you can avoid the frustration of smoothing your hair out for 45minutes and having it not last.

Number two- you can use accessories/hair styles to downplay frizz and even tuck away the most challenging areas.

I'm a big fan of hats, of course. I also love the look of a scarf tied as a headband to tame those wild pieces at the front hairline

A simple top bun also does wonders. You can twist those curls on the top and at your temples as they lead back to the bun for more control.

Number three- you can opt for a Keratin smoothing treatment to reduce frizz and soften your curl pattern. A lot of my curly clients like to still wear their natural texture in the summer knowing that it will be much more manageable and less prone to frizz. Then if they want to blow it out, they get to wear a beautiful round brush look that doesn't default to frizz at the roots after 15minutes outdoors. These results can last between 1 1/2 to 5 months based upon individual texture, home care, and the exact treatment chosen.

If you are new to the Keratin concept, right now is the perfect time to schedule your consultation and determine if this service is right for you. You can even get it scheduled before the humidity kicks in this time.
